I have
actively sought every opportunity to learn more about Spiritual Psychotherapy
through a variety of avenues.
I attended the Gestalt Institute of Toronto for 3 years during the early 1980's. That was where I began to learn to work with clients on their personal growth issues using Fritz Perl's teachings for the basis of my work.
In 1996, I became involved with a book called "A Course in Miracles" and I became fascinated and hungry to learn as much as I could. In l996-97 on a sabbatical from my teaching career I attended a Leadership Course at the Clearmind Institute of Toronto to learn how to facilitate groups of people actively desiring to change their lives using A Course in Miracles and Family Systems Therapy as a basis for the type of personal growth work we would do together.
For the past 6 years I have been facilitating a very exciting group in my home. Anywhere from 6 - 20 people attend weekly to do their personal growth work. Some of these people have attended since the group's inception.
In September of 2003, I will begin year two of my Leadership Training Program. I plan to retire from teaching in June and hope at that time I will be in a position to accommodate private clients who wish to do this type of personal growth work.
I received my Master of Education in 1980, 8 years into my teaching career. Over the past 31 years I have had opportunites to teach young adults and children with special education needs. As well I have taught core subjects to grade 4.6, 7, and 8. This year I hold a Lead position in my school with the mission to promote the York Region District School Board, board-wide incentive of "Character Matters."
